Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She is professionally referred to as Aurora. The name of her can be also stylized by the name AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well reviewed by various music websites. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her most well-known recordings. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano that was in her basement and being fascinated at the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to make music as a means of development of her own, not as a way of earning money or to pursue an interest. Thus, she began writing her own songs. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. In response to her mother's suggestion that people should not be aiming at achieving fame through her songwriting, but instead be aware of the significance of them as well as their contribution to society. She started playing piano when she was just six and started writing songs by the time she was nine. This was not known to her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never the goal of her. As she says, she simply enjoys writing songs. According to her, the music she writes is her way of feeling any thing.
